What IGCSE is

What Cambridge IGCSE gives your child

IGCSE comes from Cambridge International Education. Cambridge calls it the world's most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds.

70+

subjects worldwide, in any mix. Each school picks the ones it teaches.

14 to 16

the age group IGCSE is built for, in Years 10 and 11.

A* to G

eight grades, known around the world. Exams come at the end of the course.

Core or Extended

in many subjects, your child takes the level that suits them.

Why families choose it

  • Leading universities and employers worldwide accept IGCSE as evidence of academic ability.
  • It builds creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving. Cambridge calls it "the perfect springboard to advanced study".
  • It suits children whose first language is something other than English.
  • Malaysian families can compare it with SPM. Cambridge calls SPM "the local equivalent to Cambridge IGCSE".

How we teach

Small classes, time for every child

"Small classes enable each child to get quality time and to interact in the classroom with the teacher."From Our School, assumption.edu.my

Years 7 to 9 build a strong foundation for IGCSE. In Years 10 and 11, your child follows one of two streams. The choice rests on their interests and career goals.

We hold exams at the end of each term and send home a progress report card. If a child falls behind, our quick response and intervention system (QRIS) picks it up early. We then help them in a small group.
